Women locate stolen Cadillac in neighboring city in minutes

Mrs. Frank Harrold of Americus and neighbor Mrs. T O Marshall recovered the missing Cadillac within hours after discovery. The car was stolen from the Harrold garage after 11 oclock Saturday night and found in Cordelo Sunday morning. The robe was missing from the Harrold car. The Harrolds and Mrs. Marshall traced the car quickly and returned it home uninjured.

Two Relatives of Mrs DeVane Shot Near Ellaville

Bennie DeVane and Kenny Harvey, two white Schley county farmers north of Ellaville, were shot in a Sunday evening encounter believed to involve a negro. Sheriff Battle said the case was a badly mixed affair with no confirmed shooter name and noted a suspected link to a prior incident where Furney, a Tazewell negro, accosted Mrs DeVane and was later jailed in Columbus.

Americus Advertising club members announced the reestablishment of the Golden Rule Sales to begin on the first Wednesday in March, March 1, after a January pause. They signed one year contracts with the Times-Recorder to handle all advertising, printing, and distribution, moving copy gathering and collections to the paper. The sale day shifts from the first Monday to the first Wednesday, an innovation approved by the merchants.
