Headless Pearl Bryan Body Brought and Vaulted at Greencastle

Reports from Greencastle Indiana state the headless body of Pearl Bryan, murdered in Cincinnati, was brought to Greencastle and placed in a vault. Death of Texas Congressman Crain Shocks House

Crain Dies After Six Terms as Texas Congressman

William H. Crain of Caere Texas, a veteran Democratic congressman from the Eleventh District, died at his home at 4 a.m. He was born November 25, 1848 in Galveston and had served in the Ninth through the Fifty-fourth Congresses. He was a lawyer by training and held prior offices in Texas.

A Negro Lynched Near Pew City After Attempted Assault

Feb 10 reports Joe Lewis a Negro was lynched two miles northeast of Pew City Alabama after attempting to assault the wife of Mr. Prence a local farmer. Lewis grabbed Mrs Prence at her home pointed a pistol, then fled. A pursuing crowd overtook him near Seddon and he was hanged. Mrs Prence fought him off and was bruised but unharmed.
