The 504 foot span was built in 40 degree below zero temperatures. Next July a 354 foot cantilever span will be swung into place at Hurricane Gulch. Government railroad work covers 355 miles from Fairbanks leaving 80 miles to connect this year. Trains cross the Tanana river on ice and a 700 foot span is planned to bridge the Tanana.
Dr. B F Bond county commissioner of health received a congratulatory letter from the state department of health noting his Janu ary school work. It reports he examined 496 school children and corrected 22 defects of teeth and three eye issues, calling it one of the best records for January. The letter is signed by W F Haygood director of the Division of County Health Work.
