Thieves Take Auto of Deaf Mute in Rome Ga

An automobile belonging to Bugdy Smith, a deaf and dumb boy from Cave Spring, was stolen Sunday night from in front of a Broad Street restaurant. It has been recovered in Marietta and two boys are held by Floyd County officers on theft charges. The accused give names as Mason and Everett.

Sumter County School Board Allocates State Funds

Sumter County School Board met with Chairman J E D Shipp presiding to approve distribution of Barrett Rodgers Act funds for elementary and high schools. Andersonville Union High and Plains schools will each receive 500 dollars this year, subject to state approval, with consolidations noted. Last year Lysian and Union shared 590 dollars each due to limited funds. The board also set changes to the county high school meet program at the Aggie college in Americus for March 28 29.

Quarterly Conference at Lee Street Tonight

The first quarterly conference of the current year will be held tonight at Lee Street Methodist church led by Rev. W. C. Lovett from Dawson. Officers are expected to attend. Church Night will still be observed with devotional time, followed by the board of stewards meeting. Public invites attend.
