Fort McPherson Soldier Killed In East Point Crash
Fort McPherson soldier McGee, reported ELF, was killed when the fire truck he drove crashed into a telephone pole in East Point Saturday night. He was thrown through the windshield, rendered unconscious, and died three hours later at the fort hospital without giving details of the crash.

Miss Martha Harris 93 Dies at Home in Marion County
Box Spring February 4. Miss Martha Harris age 93 died Saturday at the home of her nephew A D Culpepter eight miles south of here. Survived by many friends and relatives in Marion county she was the last of a large family as all her brothers and sisters have died. Interment was at Doolittle cemetery Monday.

Funeral services for Mrs. Eason Smith, died in Lakeland Florida, were held at Americus Undertaking chapel at 11 o clock conducted by Rev. John M Cutler. Interment was in Oak Grove cemetery. Surviving are grandchildren including Hope Smith of Americus. She was nearing 100 and formerly lived here. Her son once served as Americus postmaster and is buried in Oak Grove.
