Brooklyn politics remain split as Hugh McLaughlin denies any plans to join a caucus backing the Murphy machine. Officials caution the party risks disorder if the machine programme is pushed. Mrs Cleveland travels from New York to Buffalo with private railcar courtesy from Chauncey Depew.
The fight for Georgia soldiers home acceptance continues as advocates plan a statewide canvass to elect a legislature pledged to approve the proposal. Gen. P. M. B. Young, Rev. Sam Small, and trustees including Col. Lowndes Calhoun and Gen. Philip Cook will lead efforts to secure a majority in the next General Assembly.
Savannan date indicates local directors of the Central railroad chose four stockholder and four director representatives to act as managers for the annual election to be held at the bank next Monday. An excursion for stockholders to Savannah is planned for the election. No change expected in the current board.
