A dozen or more bandits raided the Blue Ribbon distillery in Eminence Kentucky taking 325 cases of bottled in bond whisky. Five guards were locked in the office while two automobiles were used to haul the liquor away before guards freed themselves and raised the alarm.
Sam Comer and John Ewing Kiker graduate from junior B Y P U at Central Baptist Church. Comer served as president of the society for six months, while Kiker led missionary demonstrations and group programs as junior leaders. Both move into the senior organization to continue their service.
The Lee Street Methodist Church held a Christmas tree event Tuesday evening attended by both young members and adults. Santa Claus handed out gifts. donations totaled 75 dollars with perishables distributed and staples stored for future need. A friend donated a ton of coal to be bagged and kept for future requests.
Lonnie Boyett a 25 year old white man is dead at his home six miles from Patterson. Ivey Watson a white man is jailed in Blackshear charged with the crime after a Christmas day shooting fray at the Boyett home. Details are scarce and the case is under investigation.

Raleigh December 28 Former Governor Thomas W Bickett who suffered a stroke at his home last night died at 9 15 this morning without regaining consciousness.

Terre Haute Indiana awaits the return of Eugene V. Debs Socialist leader released from Atlanta prison. Friends and neighbors from all views expected to greet his train and escort him to his home where he will reunite with his wife.
Eugene V. Debs, freed from Atlanta prison, spoke to a crowd at Washington Union Station before departing for Terre Haute. Police in plain clothes demanded a permit, Debs apologized, and no interference occurred as he reiterated opposition to war and faith in love's redemption.

A Georgia party led by Governor Thomas Hardwick arrived in Brunswick to spend two days on Cumberland Island for a deer hunting expedition. The group includes James K. Ottley A. O. Blalock Judge Samuel C. Atkinson Col Albert Foster and Arthur Lucas. Senator Akin Col Wilkes Dr Simmons and others greeted them at the station with breakfast at Oglethorpe hotel before a steamer took them to the hunting grounds.
Nashville reports Sergeant Alvin C. York will receive a clear title to his centress county farm this week after the final $5000 payment. The deed notes his Argonne battle exploits, kills and captures, and includes citations and medals as tributes from Marshal Foch and General Pershing.
George O. Marshall, county farm demonstration agent, reports adding another Jersey bull to the Sumter County Bull Association. The group now owns five fine bulls used for breeding, stationed at various points in the county. All bulls descend from cows yielding 10,000 pounds of milk and 600 pounds of butterfat yearly, and the bulls are aiding in improving scrub cattle across the region.
