In Atlanta on December 14 soldiers home legislation died for the current session after a series of motions to reconsider and postpone. The bill may be revived next session, but for now it is dead. The same day the railroad committee reported against two of Bacon's bills on schedules and bonds, while a new measure to boost railroad worker pay failed. A separate inquiry praised convict camps, and new county court and school law amendments passed or advanced. Regular Sumter County Alliance meets in Americas on the first Friday in January 1803.
