A visiting woman in the city was stopped after his speedometer read seventy five miles per hour. She was brought to headquarters and required to post a ten dollar cash bond or face Recorder Tuesday morning on a charge of going sixty miles an hour in the city limits.

Clyde Byfield granted new trial in $100,000 suit

Mrs Clyde Byfield was granted a new trial in the $100,000 suit against Walter Candler. The case stems from an alleged attack by Candler on Byfield two years ago en route to Paris aboard the Berengaria. The original verdict for Candler was reversed on appeal due to claimed favorable jury instructions. The retrial was ordered as the appeal court found error in instruction interpretation.

Augusta December 15 Brighan Goodbee of Waynesboro was killed in a Sunday automobile crash several miles from Augusta. He lost control while passing another car and was pinned beneath his vehicle, dying shortly after being removed. Several other young men were in the car at the time of the accident.

Burns to death one day before 95th birthday

Mrs Isabella Garrett, near Greensboro, died in a fire at her son John Garrett’s home just before noon Thursday. The house and six rooms were consumed. only a few bones remained. An invalid, she was placed near an open fire by her daughter in law, and clothes catching fire from the fireplace is believed to have caused the blaze.

Glynn of New York Dies Former Governor Succumbs

Former Governor Martin H. Glynn died at his Albany home after a hospital stay for spinal trouble. The Times-Union editor and prominent advocate for Ireland, Glynn was born September 27, 1871, in Kinderhook. He helped bring Ireland’s cause to the forefront and influenced U S policy including the Wilson 1916 convention speech and Lloyd George's London invitation to De Valera.

No Police Court Session Held Today

There was no police court this morning because Recorder Fort had business with Judge Littlejohn in the Superior court. All cases due for trial today were postponed until Tuesday morning. No session of the stockade court since last Monday, though the docket lists only a few offenders slated for trial.

Joseph Uzelle, 30, a passenger on a plane making exhibition flights, stepped into the propeller as it was whirling after alighting on Sunday. He was instantly decapitated. Uzelle, a former Memphis salesman, had been in Indianola for the show.

Huge loan to power company negotiated in Georgia

A $2,560,000 loan by Georgia Light, Power and Railways Co of Macon will boost power resources across Central Georgia.
