Savannah, Dec. 7. Fines totaling 150,200 were pronounced on 24 liquor law defendants by Federal Judge Barrett. Fred Harr was fined 10,000 and sentenced to one year in federal prison. Harr as dr. others were fined 10,000 each and sentenced to two years. C. G. Graham, attorney, was fined 15,000 and two years. Other lesser penalties were imposed.

Chandler PAYS Bath Penalty in 1921 Greenville Case
Jeff Chandler a young Greenville white man was found guilty of murdering Mrs Ros ie Bramblett and was sentenced to death by Judge Frank B Gray in Greenville sessions court on March 21 1921. The jury did not recommend mercy. He was also tried for the murder of his wife but the state pursued the case against her mother. The Supreme Court dismissed his appeal from the death sentence and the automatic date of execution was set for December 7 under a new act. Chandler’s case followed the earlier execution of William C Faries who died by suicide in his cell after the automatic sentence rule.
