D Ellis Dies in Louisville. Ellis Family Remains to Americus

Mrs. Maude Branch Ellis died Sunday night at her Louisville home after a long illness. The body will be brought to Americus on the Central train Wednesday morning for funeral services at 11 at the Taylor street home of Mr. and Mrs. George R. Ellis. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Survived by husband Rev. T. D. Ellis of Louisville, son David Ellis of Americus, brother Prof. Frank Branch, sister Mrs. Mary Wynne, and nephew Russell Branch.

Back Pay Plans Discussed by American Legion

Plans to collect back pay for former service men from World War I third officers training camps will be set at a John Matins Post American Legion meeting at the courthouse at 7:36 tonight. Commander Rupert Lane says the Supreme Court ruling guarantees excess pay up to 150 dollars monthly, and the post will offer free collection services to all ex service men, not just Legion members. Several thousand men in the county may be eligible.

Sue Dear musical comedy to be presented Friday

Lander Wheater in Sue Dear the musical comedy, ranked by Southern critics as a top attraction of the season, will be presented Friday December 7 with Eleanor Bennett as prima donna and George Thom as leading tenor. Ethel Clark and John Hendricks complete the principal cast. Seats go on sale at the theater box office Wednesday at 19 o clock.

Funeral services for Mrs Jane Anna Shirah held

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Jane Anna Shirah who died Sunday at her nephew W G Barnes home. The service was at morning from the family home 823 Elm Avenue with Rev Jas B Tiere rector of Calvary. Interment was in the cemetery. Surviving are a sister Mrs W H Barnes of Oglethorpe and nephew W C Barnes of Americus among other relatives. She was 63, born and raised in Macon County, widow of T G Shivah, and a member of Ashburn Methodist Church.
