The Savannah Americus and Montgomery railroad was placed under temporary receivership by Judge Fish after noon on Wednesday. Rumor swirls that Will McTyler a young Sumter County farmer left town without notice after being sentenced to six years in the penitentiary for seduction. He was admitted to bail of 3000 dollars pending a supreme court hearing. His bondsman, said to be his father, is believed able to cover the forfeiture.
The Blue Judge circuit judge Gober stands accused by Glenn and Maddox law firm of altering a motion for a new trial after granting it. The trial stretched for weeks. four pages without facts were replaced with others and a near altercation occurred between Gober and Glenn as testimony ended. Tonight's hearing will guide the committee's report to the legislature as Watts visits Col. J A Hixon on Wednesday.
