A report from Hopsox Ga describes a heated third party meeting at Talon school house in the twenty eighth district attended by about 150 voters with only about 15 third party supporters present. Demosthenes and posters of pure democracy filled the night as speakers from both parties clashed over tariff, force bill, subtreasury, pensions, and silver. The demonstration ended with a motion to adjourn as democratic supporters jeered the third party orators. An unrelated note from New York cites a Buenos Aires cable about a 10,000 strong radicals rally interrupting a meeting calling for Alem and Irigoyen.
A Greek family on Lamar Street faced a near fatal incident when a twelve year old boy, employed to care for two young children, choked the infant until the mother and Officer Fletcher intervened. The suspect fled but officers pursued. a swift rescue saved the child and the assailant remains at large.
