A customer told a salesman she trusted the store for advertised pods and fair prices. The ad promises honesty and to match bargains, requesting customers to mention the advertisement and pay cash only for the listed prices.
John D. Tallant, president of Tollant Banking Co. of San Francisco, raved aboard the Overland Limited traveling from California to Chicago. He threw coins, drew a revolver, chased passengers, and resisted officers until disarmed in an East Chicago station apartment. He faced further confinement as detectives recovered $343 and five $2 gold pieces. He had planned a European vacation with his wife in Paris.
