Lillian Russell Faces Court Order Over Manager Change

New York August 17 Judge Bartlett in Kings County Supreme Court issued a restraining order stopping Lillian Russell from singing under Henry E. Abbey’s management from October 1 1894 to June 1 1895. The suit by Canary and Lederer seeks damages of 50000 for alleged attempts to divert her services. The judge allowed six weeks of self choice for a manager and held Russell in contempt if she persists with Abbey after October.
