Why the nickel? Georgia lawmaker explains note incident
In Atlanta on August 15 Mrs Na Pier and others on the house appropriations subcommittee questioned the origin of a nickel brought with a note from Rep Westbrook of Dougherty. Westbrook explained he gave the coin to a page to deliver the note for him, dispelling suspicions of a bribe as laughter followed. Westbrook received his nickel back.

Young Henry Scott Drowns in Tampa Bay
The body of five year old Henry Scott, son of Mr and Mrs G C Scott, who drowned Friday afternoon in Tampa Bay, will arrive in Americus today or tomorrow for interment in the local cemetery. Funeral arrangements will be set upon the arrival of the parents. His body was recovered Friday night.

Admits Part in Mail Robbery In Chicago Case
Joseph Jackson, a truck driver for a private contractor, confessed to participating in the theft of a mail pouch in Kewanee. Prospect Park in Americus will be converted into a modern tourist camp.
