Counterfeiting Plant Seized in Floral Park New York

Federal agents announced the seizure of a fully equipped counterfeiting plant in Floral Park New York prepared to print federal reserve notes. Plates were near exact reproductions of originals. Authorities did not state how many arrests were made or list those detained.

De Valera Arrested in Ennis Ireland During Meeting

Irish Republican leader Eamonn de Valera was arrested in Ennis County Clare as crowds cheered. Free State troops, present for the appearance, fired a volley into the air and took him into custody without disorder.

Airplane Sold Under Foreclosure Decree

The first foreclosure proceedings against an airplane reportedly ended Tuesday as a Curtiss JDN plane owned by Lieut. F. B. Henderson was sold at the courthouse for 150 dollars. Henderson bought the machine and flew it away from the flying field after the sale, which cleared title to the aircraft. Only one bidder attended the sale.

First Leslie Cotton Bale Weighed at Sumter Warehaus

The first bale of cotton received at Leslie this season weighed 518 pounds and classified American middling. It was ginned at the Leslie gin and sold to O. W. Lord, a local cotton buyer, for 29 cents per pound.

Second Americus season bale sold to Ford Co for 26 dollars

The second Americus season bale and first bale for Commercial Warehouse were received. Grown by J. C. Brown on the river road, ginned at Americus Oil plant, weighed 500 pounds and sold to W. E. A. Smith for 52 cents a pound. Another bale to be stored for salt later.

Mine Disaster at Kimmerer Claims Ninety-One Bodies

Kimmerer Wyoming August 15 Associated Press reports that by noon today ninety-one bodies were removed from the mine after an explosion at the 1,400 foot level. Officials said 138 men worked in the affected openings and thirty-four were rescued alive, while fire reportedly followed the blast though denied by mine officials.

Macon Auto Thief Leader Shot In Police Battle

Jack King alias Jack Livingston, alleged gang leader in Macon, was shot during a pistol exchange with deputies and city detectives on Cotton avenue. He was hospitalized with non fatal wounds after about a dozen shots rang out in a densely populated area.

Atlanta Aug 15 The Savannah Port bond measure authorizing 3 000 000 in bonds for port facilities passed the house and now returns to the senate for concurrence in a slight house change before going to Governor Walker for approval and statewide ratification by voters. Troop Two Enjoys Camp at Mill Cabin

Troop Two, Boy Scouts, returned from a one night camp at McMath's mill under chaperones C. A. Ames A. R. Royal and R. F. Ewing. Fostered by the Lions Club with Mr. Ewing as scoutmaster, the boys hiked from Americus to the mill, cooked and cleaned camp in approved style, spent the night in the screened cabin, and caught good strings of fish.
