Adams slain by unidentified men in Leesburg Florida

G L Adams of Atlanta received word that his brother C M Adams, a 45 year old Florida merchant, was killed by robbers in Leesburg. The victim leaves a son in Columbus and three brothers in Savannah and Atlanta, with several sisters living in Mt Vernon and Savannah.

Johnson Must Have Operation On Leg After Wreck

Ottie Prather Johnson, son of Mr and Mrs O C Johnson, was injured in a motorcycle crash three weeks ago. An X ray last week showed his leg out of place requiring a second operation to be performed Wednesday. He is recovering at his parents home on Jackson street awaiting surgery.

Caverly Sends Five To Gallows In Three Years

Chicago August 4. Out of 12 death verdicts in three years in the criminal court, five were before Judge John R. Caverly. The defense labeled him the friendly judge as Loeb and Leopold await verdict. Caverly has handed down more death sentences than any other judge in the court, with two in 1923 and two already this year. Born in England 1861, he rose from modest beginnings to public office roles and long tenure as judge.

Boston plane in world flight abandoned after engine trouble

Aboard the Boston, piloted by Lieutenant Wade, the air craft of the American army world flight was abandoned early today after engine trouble. The plane had been towed to Richmond, following a forced sea landing near Kirkwall en route to Iceland.
