Lee Street Methodist posts no 11 a.m. service tomorrow due to Rylander Theater event. 9:45 a.m. Sunday School by T F Furlow, Epworth Leagues meet at arch 7 p.m., 8 p.m. evening service, midweek prayer 8 p.m. series on worship continues with strong attendance.

Thomas county delegates study Crisp and Turner county dairy methods

A Thomas county delegation toured Crisp and Turner counties to observe dairy and resource utilization. They visited Cordele and Ashburn creamries, watched butter production and packaging, and heard of local income from milk and sour cream. Payslips of farmers reaching up to 150 dollars monthly were noted.

Condemned man found dead in cell at state pen

In Columbia South Carolina August 4 William Faries condemned for slaying four members of the J M Taylor family at Clover last September was found dead in his cell. Authorities said he hanged himself with pieces of sheet during the night.

Bishop Candler to Visit Americus for One Day Meeting

Bishop Warren A. Candler visits Americus on Sunday to praise First Methodist and lay the cornerstone of the new church edifice. He will preach at 11 in the Rylander Theater, attend 4 PM cornerstone ceremonies, and may speak briefly. Sunday school starts 9:30 in the courthouse Superior court room with Rev. John M. Qualifying Pounds Play At Golf Club
