Fire destroys Cuthbert plant. Dawson Variety Works to resume
A fire in Cuthbert yesterday caused damage estimated between 50,000 and 60,000 to the King Lumber company plant. Seven Central of Georgia box cars were burned, about 15,000 feet of lumber nearby escaped. Only 5,500 dollars of insurance was carried. The firm has leased a Dawson plant, the Dawson Variety Works, and is ready to resume operations.
