The President commuted Daniel Blankenship alias Michael Mann from one year in prison to a 10 dollar fine plus costs for publishing a false affidavit. The endorsement states the convict swindled the government and warrants a monetary penalty as punishment.

Mapisoy Ga April 24 L B Bullock of Oconee county was arrested in Atlanta and brought here on a charge by a Madison merchant of cheating and swindling. The case centers on an order Bullock gave the school commissioner for goods purchased on credit. the merchant says the debt remains unpaid and he was defrauded. Bullock says there was no criminal intent and that the order amount was deducted from his pay when he settled with the commissioner.
The Florida House of Representatives approved resolutions condemning Secretary of State John L. Crawford by an 84 to 20 vote. Members denounced a false public slander linked to a St Louis Dispatch inquiry and fiery remarks cited misrepresentation and damage to the legislature and Florida.
Associate Justice Jackson of the U S Supreme Court is recovering at his home near Nashville. His doctor says travel to Washington for the May 6 income tax hearings should aid his health. He plans to return home after the session and resume duties with the court in October.
