Building Collapse in Arasta Ga Save Lives by Providence
A brick building at South Pryor and Mitchell Streets in Arasta Georgia collapsed last night at 7:30 pm. No one inside at collapse time though many workers were nearby. A Chinaman in a neighboring shop was briefly trapped but survived after rescue. The building housed the American Press Association Atlanta Paper Company and Empire Printing, with heavy machinery and stock. The front wall had been condemned and repairs underway when undermining caused the collapse. If it had occurred an hour earlier, many clerks would have been killed. The Elags May Company owned the structure and three concerns occupied the space with about a hundred workers.
