Opening of the Forty-Fourth State Medical Association Session
The forty-fourth annual State Medical Association convened in City Hall with 75 to 100 members present. President A A Smith of Mankinaville opened with prayers as Rev. A M Williams gave the benediction. Mayor A S Cutts welcomed delegates, and Dr Mark O Daniel of Macon gave the response. President Smith delivered the main address. The group approved publishing parts of the president’s remarks in major papers. New members were elected, and discussions covered medical boards, health, and curricula. The afternoon featured multiple papers on puerperal septicemia, science in medicine, and neurology, with resolutions expanding oversight of legislation affecting medicine. The session adjourned to 2:20 p m.

Woman Released on Straw Bond in Redwine Case
In the Redwine affair the woman connected to the case, blamed as implicated, was freed today on a straw bond of $2,000 and to appear before the grand jury. Witnesses described Redwine's statement alleging Tom Cobb Jackson obtained over $90,000 from him, with funds loaned for railroad deals and bonds.

In Union City Kansas two men fought in Daniel’s yard last night leaving Daniel wounded by a 22 caliber shot. Dorsey surrendered to officers Burrow and Tadsell after the melee amid reports he assaulted his wife the day before. A cyclone swept Kansas with destruction in Omgo City Ossawacomb Lyndon and nearby areas, killing and injuring residents and causing extensive property damage.

Negro bank robber in Alabama jail after failed heist
A man identified as Daniel Phillips, described as a negro with mental instability, attempted to rob four banks in Alabama including the Alabama National and Virat National banks. He failed, was overpowered at the Jefferson County Savings Bank, and taken to jail after authorities say he claimed God commanded the act. He showed signs of insanity afterward and barked like a dog in confinement.
