Advert claims Johnsons Chill and Fever Tonic cures fever when other remedies fail. It supposedly brightens eyes, clears skin, improves appetite, and steadies the liver. The text asserts it is 100 times better than quinine and condemns counterfeiters and imitators of the product.

Washington April 8 Justice White handed down an opinion in the United States Supreme Court on the long and short clause of the interstate law. The East Tennessee and Georgia Railroad Company won, reversing lower decisions by the Interstate Commerce Commission the circuit court and the circuit court of appeals. The ruling held the lower rates to Nashville compared with Chattanooga were not upheld on the grounds contested by the rail company.
