Paris April 8 official report delivery times set for 10 o'clock tomorrow for the reparations reports from the Dawes and McKenna committees. The time of delivery was announced today as the hour for filing the joint and expert committee findings.
Dr J W Payne, county health commissioner, urged immediate mosquito control to curb malaria. He advised quinine treatment for malaria patients, draining standing water, oiling stagnant pools, screening openings, keeping premises clear of weeds, and reporting malaria cases to win the fight this season.
Applications for 41 loans totaling 68500 have been approved by the board of Citizens Building and Investment Company in Rome marking the start of a local home building movement following the Own Your Home campaign. Thirty two are for new homes nine for improvements, bringing total loans outstanding to 200000 and the company able to lend over 100000 yearly on its existing basis.
April 8 The American aerial squadron that circumnavigated the globe will restart its flight from Prince Rupert tomorrow Major Frederick Martin announced in a telegram to David Whitcomb president of the Seattle Chamber of Commerce The message confirms the expedition continues with Major Martin at the helm and Seattle as a key staging point.
Premier Poincare protested to Soviet Foreign Minister Techitcherin over the Kiev trial of Russian intellectuals. He urged Britain and Italy, newly in direct diplomatic contact with Russia, to similar representations to save Soviet savants whose loss would be felt worldwide.
Hollis Fort Jr sustained a three inch wound during a Monday game at the Playground diamond when he collided with John Wagnon Jr while chasing a fly hit by an opposing player. Fort required four stitches and was taken home after medical attention. doctors feared a scar might form though the injury was not serious.
April 8 A tariff schedule for uniform recon signing and diversion rules and charges for all railroads of Georgia has been filed with the Georgia Public Service Commission for approval by Charles Barham chairman of the Southern Freight Association representing all carriers in the south. The rules and charges result from a conference between carrier and shipper representatives and where agreement failed the disputed point was arbitrated by R V Pitt assistant director of traffic of the Interstate Commerce Commission. No uniform rules have been adopted yet by the Georgia commission. carriers may publish their own rules subject to commission approval. The petition seeks uniform rules and charges over all roads in Georgia and the south, similar petitions having been filed in other southern states.
President Coolidge and Senator Hiram Johnson contend for Nebraska's endorsement and 19 delegates in the state wide primary. No Democratic candidate appears on the ballot, though space is provided for voters to write names.
Labor leaders in Atlanta on April 8 called Senator Oscar Underwood a friend of labor and favored for president. They cited his rail questions in Congress, compulsory arbitration, backlist repeal, eight hour day, minimum wage efforts, and support for conciliation boards, arguing his public service favors a square deal for workers.
Savannah Electric Power Company files with the Georgia Public Service Commission to curtail suburban trolley service between Savannah Isle of Hope and Montgomery. Company seeks to discontinue two cars on the line as bus competition makes operations unprofitable.
Senator Harrison of Mississippi told the senate agriculture committee that unless the Ford Muscle Shoals bill is taken up by April 16 he will move to discharge the committee and place the bill on the senate calendar as unfinished business.
Washington April 8 The senate finance committee orders the revenue bill favorably reported detailing a retroactive 25 percent cut in 1928 income taxes payable this year a permanent revision of rates and a 25 percent earned income reduction. The measure narrows scope from the house bill and restores several miscellaneous taxes seen as required to avoid a treasury deficit. The vote was 9 to 7 along party lines with support for Mellon rate plans. No immediate senate action expected before next week.
The Central railroad asks the Georgia Public Service Commission to extend the Columbus to Americus passenger service through to Albany. The petition notes the train serves Buena Vista and Ellaville shoppers, enabling same day returns, with a caveat that Albany extension could be cancelled if unprofitable, pending a public hearing if later requested. Schedule shows Number 6 leaving Columbus at 8:00 a.m. for Americus arriving 10:20 a.m. daily, and Number 5 leaving Albany at 2:00 a.m. for Americus arriving 3:15 a.m., then reaching Columbus at 5:36 a.m. daily.

William Miller, jailed in Thomas County, attempted a second escape by sawing bars. He had one bar nearly separated and was working on another when spotted. A cigarette package hid the saw, sent by his brother in Michigan. Miller is also wanted for breaking into the Vose home and faces April Superior Court.
