Tragic Atlanta Death by Laudanum Overdose

A 24 year old Chattanooga woman Miss Misa Hamilton, out of work, consumed laudanum leading to a near fatal overdose in Atlanta on April 6. She was found unconscious, revived after two hours by Dr. Westmoreland, and said to be in danger of death. Hamilton had recently lost employment at Commercial Oil Co and later at F J Cooledge & Bro, living at Miss Brockhan’s 147 Ivy Street. Local relatives in Chattanooga and a brother in Atlanta are noted as her kin. officials describe her despondent condition.
