Fifth Alabama district contest seats Goodwin over Cobb
The house committee on elections No 1 ruled in a party line vote to unseat Democrat James E Cobb and seat Republican Goodwin in the Fifth Alabama district. Allegations of ballot box stuffing and intimidation were sustained, giving Goodwin a majority of about 2200 votes from Cobb’s 10851 to Goodwin’s 9905. Cobb is serving his fourth term.
