Steps have been taken toward organizing a Joe Brown Club in Americus with a circulating petition for supporters. Anti Smith sentiment is strong, but there is confidence in enrolling a large number. Joiner fought officers and was returned to custody. He had lived here as a life insurance representative and showed interest in trotting horses.
Senator elect W. D. Murray of the Thirteenth district visited Americus yesterday from Schley on business. He was welcomed amid congratulations from friends after his recent election by a narrow 34 vote margin over opponent Mr Collum. Murray has previously served in both the Senate and the lower house representing Schley and the county.
Dr. 8 H McKee received a telegram announcing the sudden death of his father who, though aged and in excellent health, died unexpectedly. The family traveled by the 10:40 Central train to attend the funeral, surprising relatives and friends.
