A man found dead along the Groom highway near Panhandle is tentatively identified by a Veterans Bureau duplicate receipt issued in 1931 to Tom B. Killiott of Broadway Hotel Guymon Oklahoma. Justice of the Peace notes no other ID. The body shows a skull fracture and evidence of dragging. Mid Clark, who found him, recalls a possible death window between 9 PM and Saturday morning. The victim is described as about 35 to 40 years old.

Baylor Coed Slain By Highway Bandits
Miss Ledelle Hammond 20 and companion Ervin Conway 21, Baylor University students, were attacked by two men and a woman at a Hearne highway underpass. Hammond died from a gunshot wound. Conway was wounded in the shoulder and not seriously hurt. A truck driver later reported a similar roadside robbery near Wellborn by a similar trio.

Escape with bank safe as guns roar
Two men seized the Citizens Bank safe at Lamont, Oklahoma, at 3:30 this morning as bullets flew. The safe held about $5,000 including money received yesterday. Sheriff Glen Davis and a posse arrived as the truck pulled away. the cab was riddled but the occupants were unharmed. The trail was lost three miles northeast of Lamont.
