Normandie and Air Travel Promise Future Ocean Links
The article contrasts the Normandie with the Queen Mary, noting American GE made propellers and the move toward air travel reducing ocean crossing prominence. It reflects on aging captains, wartime crews, and shifting transport focus as ships lose edge to aviation.
