Winter CCC expansion at Palo Duro and state park
The Globe reports Texas will extend three Palo Duro CCC camps for six months starting October 1 and add a fourth camp of 200 men at a state park project. In total five camps will operate through winter, with 800 workers in Palo Duro, plus a new recruiting station near Amarillo. Recruits will come from Panhandle counties and winter barracks are planned at the project.
