Burton Haney aged 19 died from burns and internal injuries after a torch drum exploded at a Corsicana welding shop. He was injured Saturday and died last night. funeral services were scheduled for this afternoon.

Charles M. Davis, 56, veteran Amarillo peace officer for 14 years, died at his home 810 West Ninth Avenue at 1 15 this morning. He leaves wife Mamie, daughters Mrs. R W Burke and Velma, and sons T B Bill and Ernest Eugene, all of Amarillo. Davis served as chief of police in the city once and belonged to the Church of Christ and Woodmen of the World. Funeral planned for tomorrow afternoon with N B Griggs Sons in charge.
Jim Bain about 25, a Vega dairy employee, was killed when the small coupe he rode in overturned on a country road southwest of Vega at 11 last night. Harold Myers the driver and Bessie Burns escaped with minor injuries. Bain’s relatives are not well known.
San Antonio renews a three year battle against rate hikes by Southwestern Bell. Judge Joseph Dibrel will preside as the appellate court orders a re opening of the case after the first hearing which lasted three months. City expenditures reach eighty thousand dollars since April 1928.

Bandits abducted teller Roland Rugeley and forced him to open the safe at Borger State Bank. They bound two other workers and two girls, escaped with $8,100, and later released Rugeley after returning him to the scene. No time lock was used.
