More than thirty eight hours had passed without word of Lieutenant Otto Koennecke and his companions in the bi plane Germania who left Angora Turkey Saturday for Basra. The search extended as news of the missing flight reached London.

Amarillo dairy men Ferguson and Curry show sixteen head of high class registered Jerseys at the South Plains fair in Lubbock this week. Howard Ferguson says the cattle are improving in condition and appearance and will likely go to the Texas Oklahoma fair at Wichita Falls and the Dallas State fair. Colonel Lindbergh arrives at Kin solving field Abilene at 9 23 and refuses a chair throne offered in the car. He sits on the back seat with Mrs Moody and says he cannot ride on the throne despite the warm welcome. Crowds and officials accompany the Spirit of St. Louis to Fort Worth after brief Abilene stop.
John H. Miller of Milwaukee piloting a Hamilton metal plane claimed the first prize of $900 with a score of 528 in the Aviation Town and Country Club of Detroit trophy race for light commercial planes at Feltsfield Spokane. Paul Richter Jr of Los Angeles took second prize $500 with 66 points and James Ray of Willow Grove Pa won third prize $250 with 251 points.
A 65-year-old man, Jiaggio Arsenio, allegedly killed a girl named Angeline Constance in East 108th Street New York to avenge his daughter's elopement. Police say he entered the home at night, firing a shotgun, and escaped over rooftops as relatives described violent confrontations with the girl's parents.
The body of a young girl found in a shallow grave ten miles from Fredericksburg was identified as 14 year old Billy Owens, missing three months from Crane City. Miss Eva Owens rode 300 miles by bus to Fredericksburg to confirm a ring and facial features as proof. The girl's mother and another sister traveled to Fredericksburg to view the body.
The body of Arthur H. Wood of New York City was found mangled on the Fort Worth and Denver tracks about three miles south of Wichita Falls. An identification card in his pocket bore his name and address. He wore a leather coat and corduroy pants, and 60 cents and circus programs were found in his pockets.
The League of Nations assembly unanimously approves creation of a special committee to work with the preparatory disarmament commission on the security problem.

Medina Ruth Morris, one year old daughter of Mr and Mrs H V Morris of 208 North Harrison, died at a local hospital at 11 45 last night. Funeral services were set for four this afternoon at Griggs funeral chapel with Rev W C Garrett officiating. Burial planned at Llano cemetery.

Earl Matlock seven, son of Mr and Mrs John Matlock of Canadian, was crushed to death when a gravel pit caved in Sunday morning while children played. Another child was hurt but not seriously. efforts to revive him were fruitless. Blackburn ambulance.
The Exchange Telegraph reports 5,000 died when a tidal wave and typhoon hit Yeongkong, Kwangtung province, on September 16. Twenty thousand homes damaged and 400 junks destroyed. total losses estimated at 1 million dollars. The same storm earlier affected Kiushin in Japan on September 13.
Flight Lieutenant S. N. Webster in a Supermarine Napier S-5 monoplane shattered seaplane speed records by averaging 281.488 mph to capture the Schneider Cup for Great Britain in Venice Italy. Italy had held the cup after beating the United States at Hampton Roads in 1926. Webster’s speed surpassed the 246.496 mph mark set by Major Mario De Bernardi.
