Judge James C. Wilson imposed two year terms in Leavenworth for Jack Ferguson 20 of Hugo Oklahoma after pleading guilty to transporting a stolen Chevrolet from Seminole Oklahoma to Childress Texas. Also in court Mrs Rose Rogers of Bowers Texas was fined fifty for beer possession and Charles Goff Amarillo pastry baker received two year probation after pleading guilty to morphine sulphate possession.
Tri State fair officials report five days left to raise 15430 dollars to cover expenses. Yesterday receipts reached 4170 dollars from grandstand acts led by Leonard Stroud rodeo and Schooley Collins Winter Garden revue.
Two men died and four others were seriously injured in a head on automobile collision on the Albuquerque Santa Fe highway between Little La Bajada and Big La Bajada Hills. The sedans were driven by John Fraser of Washington DC and Durtiss O Bryan of Santa Fe. Fraser, and Francis Hennin of Houston England, were killed instantly. Mrs Fraser sustained a broken wrist and pelvis and possible internal injuries.
New Mexico arrives as honored guest at the Tri-State fair with over 300 from Roswell Elida Portales and Clovis aboard a special train to Amarillo. More than 100 arrive by car. Officials greet them at Santa Fe station including President Wilbur C. Hawk and Mayor Lee Hivins as bands perform and parades begin downtown.
United Press reports Emilio Portes Gil is expected to be elected provisional president as the cabinet remains largely unchanged. Congress set to vote in a joint session late today, confirming Portes Gil’s leadership in Mexico City.
United States Senator Lawrence C. Phipps of Colorado arrived on the French steamer Lie de France to find his baggage thoroughly searched despite his protests. The Associated Press report notes the scene in New York on September 25.
Winter Garden Revue showcases a major fair program with the Schooley and Collins act set to begin at 7:45 pm. The New Mexico delegation will depart on a 9:50 train, with 50 cars needed at 9:15 pm to transport visitors to the station, and volunteers sought for motorist assistance. A bus service will run from the grandstand to the station at that time.
The Winter Garden Revue wowed the audience at the Tri-State Fair grandstand with lavish scenery catchy music and vaudeville acts. A 35 girl chorus and the Iroquois duo Zita and Howard led a 90 minute show ending with fireworks as loudspeakers carried performances to all sections.

Philadelphia on September 26 reports two police captains arrested on extortion bribery and conspiracy to accept bribes from saloonkeepers. A ward leader from the Republican organization is sought on a fugitive warrant on similar charges as the district attorney promises further grand jury developments in bootlegger racketeering.
The Tri-State fair merchants booth department reports its displays as the greatest hit of the event. Amarillo merchants lead the effort with an array of booths, most spaces rented with only two or three openings left. Exhibits include the Mixtletoe Creamery dairy display and Plains Wholesale Grocery with Gold Bar Fruits demos, plus Minute oats souvenir packages for adults.

Ovalio Penna a Mexican charged with burglary faced trial in district criminal court at nine this morning with W T Brothers as defense. A jury was chosen and expected to render verdict in the afternoon. Earlier Leo Kinchle was found not guilty of assault with intent to murder after a brief deliberation. Kinchle stabbed guard Jack Tomberlin at a carnival incident.
Ennis Texas September 26 L C McCray a farmer was charged with assault to murder after an altercation in which his stepson Albert Stewart was shot near Garrett Sunday night authorities said McCray faces the charge following the shooting incident linking the involved parties to the Garrett area and Ennis.
