The Amarillo branch of the American Association of University Women will sponsor a tea on Monday afternoon from 3 to 6 at the home of Mrs. E C Ochsner 81 Avondale. Prospective members are urged to attend and study group chairmen will be present to register members for their groups.
The Happy Hour Sewing Club was entertained yesterday afternoon by Mrs E F Dickerson. Mesdames W L Granger H M Jensen Rufus McDowell H D Wood and J R Fonti attended with the hostess. Next week the club meets Thursday at 2 PM at Mrs H M Jensen 1216 East Sixth.
Dora Jane Armstrong Zone No 2 of the Amarillo District, Woman's Society of Christian Service held an all day session at Tenth Avenue Methodist Church. Officials inducted were zone leader and other officers. retiring officers named. Conference and district officers attended. Czechoslovakia has a decided slump in industrial production.
Miss Reba Baird hosted a buffet supper for Xi Eta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi at 1619 Van Buren assisted by Miss Williewell Zimmer and Mrs Marguerite Rodgers. Catherine Rodgers led the business meeting planning a October 1 ward Tubercular Mobile Unit fundraiser at the San Jacinto Youth Center.
Mrs J H Kemp and Mrs Frank Gallogly hosted a Wednesday afternoon shower at 511 North Johnson for Mrs Raymon McCabe. Refreshments were served to Mesdames J P Mask Wayne Fulton Francis McCown C C Bills PF L Fisher L H Kemp W T Lemaster J C Hatridge and Andrew Throck Morton. Lending gifts were Mesdames Irene Farmer Peggy Burns and N C Halley.
The Woman's Society of Christian Service of Trinity Methodist Church held a Wednesday morning study on Alaska led by Mrs. J. P. Wrather at Mrs. G. H. Holliday's home 3801 Tyler.
