Memory System Still Best Declared by Retired Louisiana Teacher
N W Orleans U P retired after 57 years, Annie R Taaffee says old methods still work. Native of New Orleans, she taught mainly in St Bernard Parish and the old First Ward School, now replaced by Joseph Maumus. She recalls teaching arithmetic by rapid fire and homemade reviews, and now paints in oils and teaches art at Holy Child of Jesus Academy. A separate note from Wilmington Del reports Edward H Robinson tearing down his old schoolhouse as he had threatened in third grade.
