Funeral services for C. T. McLellan 81 retired railroad man from the Santa Fe of Topeka Kansas were held yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock in Topeka. McLellan died Tuesday afternoon while reading the newspaper at home. Burial followed at Mount Hope Cemetery. Relatives from Amarillo attended including grandchildren and a daughter-in-law.

John Ranson was charged in Justice of the Peace H W Dukes court with assault with intent to murder in the stabbing of Johnnie Taylor. Bond set at 1000 dollars. James O Dell a transient from Wichita Kansas lost an arm when he fell under a freight train here Wednesday night. He remained in St Anthony s Hospital today and attendants said he was resting well.
Edward L. Harris an African American janitor at the University of Pittsburgh earned a PhD while working full time and attending classes. After six years of night study he becomes head of the chemistry department at Wilberforce University in Ohio starting September. He previously earned a Pittsburgh degree and taught in Texas.
