Photographer charged after wounding man over daughter claim
Luther M. Kell Derring, 41, a Fort Worth photographer, is charged with seriously wounding Alexander C. Farrar after learning Farrar had relations with his daughter. Derring, a former motorcycle policeman, is hospitalized with buckshot injuries. Farrar was shot after a streetcar ride. he was unarmed, police say.

Suit Aims to Block State Funds for Red River Bridge
Austin Sept 14 Suit filed in the fifty third district court in Travis county seeks to prevent payment of state funds for the Red River bridge near Burkburnett Wichita county. The petition claims the Texas highway commission with Oklahoma conspired to build a bridge with $150000 or more in state money and argues the boundary at that point is not the Red River. It faults a special act of the 39th Texas legislature as unconstitutional.
