J L Allred aged 79 died Sunday at his daughter's home in Chillicothe. He had lived near Wildorado for 25 years and was a Civil War veteran born in Tennessee. Survived by widow, four sons I A Fr C and R M Allred Wildorado and J B Allred Wichita Falls. four daughters Mrs L T Randal Chillicothe Mrs A R Norman Mrs J F Daniel and Mrs Ben Floyd Wildorado. Funeral at Palo Duro Baptist Church led by Rev A M Dowell.
A temporary injunction was granted by Judge J. C. Canty to restrain state or federal authorities from driving off or killing cattle herds near Arcadia in Galveston County. Hearing on the petition was set for 10 o clock on September 14.

Fire of undetermined origin destroyed the house and furniture at 903 Carolina avenue. Fire chief Karl Curry said no one was at home and investigators found no usable clues. The property, believed to belong to H. T. Brady, suffered about 1500 dollars in damage.
The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Hassler died Sunday morning at a local hospital. The body was shipped to Canadian Texas by Briggs Undertaking company for burial. The Hasslers reside at 701 Jackson Street.
Jacksonville Florida September 14 1926 police probe a mob of 140 men that tarred and feathered two sisters after a thirty day sentence for disorderly conduct. The women were seized from a city prison farm and paraded to a secluded spot where tar and feathers were applied before being returned to a rooming house in gunny sacks.
At a noon meeting in Hotel Palo Duro the Tenth Street Property Owners association heard that the Rock Island railway is ready to begin on the North Plains extension as soon as a permit is granted. Fast St Louis Ill Sept 14 A belt buckle and a wedding ring were the main clues for police to identify a man and a woman whose charred bodies were found in a burned automobile near here. Washington September 14 A court of inquiry to investigate the Shenandoah disaster was appointed today by Secretary Wilbur with Rear Admiral P Jones, chief of the navy General Board, as its president.
Evan C. Young of South Dakota is appointed minister to the Dominican republic. He currently serves as chief of the Bureau of Eastern affairs in the State Department. William W. Russell of Washington is named minister to Siam. The announcements were made at the White House.
Virgil Stalcup was arrested yesterday by police on reckless driving charges. He was previously fined after a county court trial linked to Jess Womack, an Amarillo barber who broke a leg in the accident. Stalcup is set to appear in police court today. France had a strike of bank employees recently.
