The Swedish motorship Nippon of 6005 tons sank three miles off Wandelaar Lightship following a collision with the French steamer Aisne of 3654 tons. The Aisne reached Flushing harbor badly damaged, Lloyds agent reported from Flushing, The Netherlands.

Early morning Amarillo hosts a delegation of 32 Kiowa Comanche and Caddo Indians led by Chiefs White Horse and Attackine. The group includes Lucille Bighow and Maggie Tahome, descendants of Kiowa chiefs, and artists Stephen Mopope Spencer Asah and Kathrine French, a former 1938 Indian Exposition princess.

The Goodwill Group plans a Friday visit to Portales for Amarillo Day at the Roosevelt County Fair. A motorcade will depart at 8:30 in the morning. Clay Thornton and Bill Beechler lead the delegation with about 20 pledges so far and hope for a full Portales turnout.
Buford Goad, 7, alias Joseph B. Anderson of Little Rock, confessed to participation in three murders in Detroit, Gary, and Hot Springs. He described abducting and killing George W. Howey in Detroit, attempting a Gary holdup where a bartender was shot, killing taxi driver John Colla, and taking part in the Hot Springs grocer Eldon Cooley slaying with $800 robbery. Police say the story ties the suspect to a string of crimes across Michigan, Indiana, and Arkansas.
