Permits for the first 37 of 178 frame dwellings were issued to Seale Company of Amarillo. The project targets veterans, with two and three bedroom homes costing 8000 to 10000 dollars each. Located at Poplar and Magnolia, the 1.6 million dollar development aims for completion by mid 1952. Construction starts within a week. 90 days to finish first units.

Washington Sept 12 The Army alerting Illinois and Ohio National Guard divisions for active duty early next year. The 37th Infantry from Ohio and the 44th from Illinois will report to Camp Polk Louisiana about Jan 15 and Camp Cooke California about Feb 15.
