Harold R. Frank, about 30, assistant cashier at First National Bank of Perryton, was charged in federal court with embezzling 15237.50. He was brought to Amarillo by the FBI, posted 1000 bond after waiving hearing, and the offense allegedly occurred Sept. 7. Frank formerly worked as a bank examiner in Wichita and was active in Perryton civic and veterans groups. His wife and two children live there.

Arson Plot Ends in Death and Ruin at West 18th Street
Detectives traced a lethal arson plot to Al Keshner 42 and two hired men Jack Weiss 67 and Jake Mayron 59, with Moe Shapiro dead in the blaze. The plan of a burning drum and fuse aimed to destroy Keshner’s plant for insurance proceeds but failed. The explosion shattered nearby windows and the fire burned for over three hours, occurring on West 18th Street off Fifth Avenue.
