Amarillo moves to open St George's College as a new Catholic diocesan institution in Sacred Heart Cathedral hall and rectory. Bishop R A Gerken announced the temporary opening with classes for day scholars and boarders, enrollees to report September 12 at the Rectory.
Evidence shows Clinton B Carnes sponsored the film careers of Miss Sonia Nordice and Miss Lois Griffin while a $1,000,000 shortage in his accounts awaited grand jury review. Thomas B Scott, receiver for Carnes properties, said a contract existed through Louise Pope, tying Carnes to earnings from the two young women. The action relates to Carnes alleged affairs and matters tied to proceeds from his private papers.
