War Crimes Commission expands list of Japanese criminals
The War Crimes Commission is expected to try far more Japanese offenders than those prosecuted in Europe. A first list of Japanese war criminals, all military officers, was submitted by the United States almost a year ago. Since spring 1944 the commission has pursued punishment plans by creating a Far Eastern and Pacific sub commission. This body began work last November in Chungking chaired by Dr. Wang Chunghui, a former World Court judge, and has reviewed charges from the Chinese government. Other cases have also been presented to the main commission in London.
