Others named John Edes and Jack Heaton were arrested yesterday.
Tonight and Saturday will be fair with mild temperatures. The thermometer will range from 83 degrees during the day to 65 degrees at night, with hourly readings starting at 7 a.m. and peaking around 1 p.m. at 83. A year ago the highs and lows were 74 and 53 for comparison.

The case centers on Jack Morgan's January death near Childress. His wife Ida Morgan is jailed on first degree murder charges after a confession naming Fred Nate as the man she hired to kill him. Nate, held in Wellington for an attempted bank robbery, will be charged as an accessory and transported to Childress. The motive is described as the eternal triangle. The Morgans moved from New Mexico to the oil country.
Government officials urge Congress to curb dangerous overseas flights after 20 deaths. Acting Navy Secretary Robinson backs restricting stunt flights and seek safety through multimebored planes and flying boats. Byrd Lindbergh and others push safer trans ocean flights and larger flying boats to carry more fuel and passengers. Brock and Schlee arrive Hong Kong after Hanoi leg of world circuit.
Tri State exposition secretary manager Bob Emmett commends Panhandle Lumber company for cooperative spirit aiding the fall festival. He cites towns from Clovis to Hereford and Canyon and thanks J E Hill of Panhandle Lumber for a liberal offer and support that could help surpass the Dallas fair.
The Henry Prospt Motor Company Nash dealers safe withstood an amateur knob knocker attack last night according to Chief H L Gaither. Officials believe the intruder was left inside at closing and failed to enter the safe then unlocked a door from inside before locking it. All doors secured this morning marking a second amateur robbery attempt this week.
AP report from Port Allegheny Pennsylvania details a collision at a grade crossing eight miles south of town. Three people died Mrs Holcum Miss Faries and Miss Woods while four were seriously injured.
Lloyd Conatser19yearold farm hand from Fisher county faces murder charges in the Roby sheriff deputy shooting. He says Bill Smith fired the fatal shots and he aided in leaving town. Conatser describes honeymoon trip and surrender after returning to Columbus Mississippi with his wife Lola. He hopes Bill Smith is captured and will tell the truth.
Gov. Vic Donahey of Ohio has definitively declared himself a candidate for the Democratic nomination for United States senator in 1928. A close associate says Donahey advised against seeking a fourth term and may be a potential compromise candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination if he withdraws from the Senate race. He maintains he will not seek the Democratic presidential nomination and has refused to endorse any booms for him.
United Press dispatch from Geneva reports a Polish proposal to renounce all aggressive warfare among League members and to brand such acts as international crime, formally presented before the League of Nations assembly on September 9.
Chicago September report on William Edward Mitchell dubbed The Cat Bandit. He admitted robbing 150 women and terrorizing the north side, with six bushels of jewelry and purses recovered from his apartment. Forty robbery with a gun charges and attempted assault counts filed. wife appeals for reform. police and vigilantes pursued him until capture.
Maj. RE Simpson acting Texas American Legion commander will present an invitation on behalf of Amarillo to Col. Charles Lindbergh during his Texas trip. The Amarillo Flying Club backs the effort as Simpson heads to Dallas to urge inclusion of Amarillo in the itinerary. Lindbergh had signaled prior inability to visit.
Eddie Held of St. Louis shot 69 in the second 18 holes at Olympia Fields to take the Western Open lead, the first in a field of over 200 to break 70 for 18 holes. He went 35 on the front nine and 34 on the back, totaling 144 for 36 holes after yesterday’s 74.
The fall term of federal court will convene in Amarillo on October 17, according to advice received today by Miss Jewell Seales, deputy United States commissioner. A grand jury will be empanelled for this term, and the criminal docket will be called on October 27. The equity docket will be called on October 24, Judge Wilson will preside.
