Gold Sox, Hubbers Open Playoff Series at Amarillo Park

President Bob Leeds of the Amarillo Gold Sox announced at noon that tonight’s playoff game against the Lubbock Hubbers will start at 8 o’clock at Gold Sox Park in Amarillo. He said light rain could affect conditions if rain falls this afternoon but the field should remain playable.

Range Riders Start 58-M mile Three Day Trail Ride

Range Riders Club begins a three day 58 mile trek Sept 24 from Range Riders West Ranch to L8 Ranch HQ. Riders depart after breakfast, stop for lunch at Prying Pan Ranch, camp at Mitchell Canyon, ride 12 miles to lunch, 13 miles afternoon, camp at LS Ranch, final day 15 miles after a noon meal, with annual event plans by publicity chair John Parker.

Federal probe ordered in Texas runoff vote clash

US Door Open to Germans

Washington reports the United States plans to reopen immigration to Germans from the Reich. About 25,000 Germans will be eligible each year after mass registration in the Western zones and Austria. Registration may begin this month. two million forms have been printed in Switzerland. The influx includes roughly 800,000 displaced persons Congress will admit 205,000 over two years.
