In 47th District Court Tuesday morning a murder arraignment for Brinkley was postponed because no attorney appeared to represent him. Brinkley, held without bond in Potter County Jail, is linked to the death of his stepson Joseph Michael Getz, aged 20 months, on Aug 30. The defense attorney was tied up in another trial and had not yet been employed.
Curtis Lee Jones a 26 year old escapee from Warr Prison Farm of Bowie County was arrested by Amarillo police after a brief chase on North East Fight. He had escaped about 10 days earlier and was serving 35 years for armed robbery. Jones was not armed and offered no resistance. He will be held for transfer to the Texas Prison System.
