Violence loomed as about 500 to 600 farm pickets halted a 22-truck caravan to the market near Sioux City. Deputized sheriff's forces with shotguns faced stones and clubs, but the convoy retreated to Lemars as tensions rose along routes into the city.
Miss England III, defeated and disabled Harmsworth challenger, will be loaded on a Walkerville flat car today for the trip to England. Dalhart, Sept. 7. Dr. A. J. Lovell, 56, died yesterday after five weeks illness. He suffered a stroke a week earlier and had been unconscious most of the time. During the World War influenza epidemic he cared for patients nearly day and night. He cut his hand in an operation and blood poisoning followed. His strong physique remained weakened. Funeral services were held today with interment in Dalhart.
The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and a gradual warming tonight and Thursday. West Texas expects patchy showers in the southeast, with warmer conditions across the Panhandle and eastern and northern sectors Thursday. Temperatures reach 60 to 72 by early afternoon.

Borger's proposed recall election for the city commission will be heard September 21. Two appeals from the Borger recall fight were consolidated by the Seventh Court of Civil Appeals. An injunction preceding the hearing advanced the new date along with a writ of error appeal. The case stems from a district court order for a recall election issued last spring.
Two men suspected in the 3500 robbery of the First National Bank of Bridgeport were released in Dallas as bank officials could not identify them. No charges were filed and the case remained unresolved.
