Amarillo urged to provide cattle show facilities

Jay Taylor, chairman of the Overall Planning Committee, told Amarillo’s Jaycee noon crowd that adequate housing and show facilities are needed to keep Amarillo competitive in the registered cattle show circuit. He warned that without such facilities cattle owners will relocate shows here, noting rivals like Lubbock, Wichita Falls and Vernon. The group urged keeping the issue on the agenda. Also noted were plans for a Junior Chamber Bowling Tournament starting Sept 10 at 6:30 at the Victory Bowling Alley and a list of guests at the meeting.
