Train hits butane truck in city collision
H T Peters of Abernathy, a butane truck driver, was seriously injured when his vehicle was struck by Rock Island passenger train No 51 at the Grand Avenue crossing at 6 20 this morning. His brother-in-law E E Slough helped extinguish the flames and save the crew, as the double tank trailer overturned near the tracks. Dee Scroggins, the train engineer, suffered minor burns.
